Manila + a day in Boracay

Im really sorry about the lack of pics atm, the internet is real slow

Anyway carrying on the last update, after deciding to get the montain dew from the local 7-11 i managed to get some balls and venture out of the compound that surrounded the hostel. Manila is bear scary like worse then Elephant and Castle..i know its crazy. As soon as i left the padlocked fence around the hostel people started staring like anything, in India people stare like mad but you know they would never hurt/get near you. but here is a different story, as i was alone it was even more scary. a lot of the young men have tatoos that look like the kind that mexicans gangs have. so i was proper bricking it. if that wasnt bad enough this guy walked infront of me and said 'hello friend, i am poor give me money', at that point i was beyond bricking it. anyway as i have years of experiene in the hood i looked away and kept walking. luckly gang man left poor old white boy alone. after geting the mountain dew and some Oreos i pegged it back to the hostel with only people shouting stuff this time so it wasnt so bad.
after chilling for a bit and downing the mountain dew another guest arrived, his name was Dave and he was also from the hood, a place called (appropriatly enough) Shooters Hill, in south east London. Dave had a scary story to tell, but il write about that once I leave the Philipeans, trust -when you read it you will understand why.
After chilling with Dave for a few hours and having a brilliant dinner of chicken, rice and fresh mango, Joe arrived at 10:40 pm, I was scared arriving at 6 am, so Joe must have been really scared arriving so late at night. he said that when they stoped at traffic lights and to get directions people would try to look into the blacked out windows with their hands cupped around their eyes. anyway luckly Joe arrived in 1 peice. It was real late so we tried to get some kip, only to be woken by some Yank at 2 am who turned the lights on and used his computer all night...with the lights on.
at 6 in the morning Dave left to return the UK, he left early as he was despirate to leave the country..tbh i couldnt blame him.
at 12 or so Brunner and I left for the airport, we got weighed on some scales as the plane was so small, (we thought they did to so they could charge fat yanks more money), in the airport Brunner got chatted up by a lady boy, as we were leaving a coffee shop he/she put his/her hands on Joe's shoulder and said 'bye bye, your so hansome'. hey at least he/she didnt ask if he fancied a ****
after waiting for a while we got on the really small plane and proceded to Borcay. Next time you have a Ryanair pilot and they are shit spare a though for the people of the Philipeans. The pilot went into the airport way too fast and slammed on the breaks really hard. it was a very scary landing. and after looking at the landing strip im glad we didnt crash cause we would have been dead no question.
anyway, we made it into Boracay ok. Will update in a few days
xxx
